Her Story

Annie P. Spear has spent her career at the intersection of literacy, learning, and leadership. From her earliest days in the classroom to her current work as a consultant, coach, and author, she has been driven by a single conviction: that every child deserves a reader who believes in them.

Her path has taken her from elementary classrooms to district leadership, from professional learning stages to the quiet work of writing — always grounded in the real complexity of teaching and learning, and always centered on children.

Through Spear Educational Consulting, LLC and Let's Talk Literacy, LLC, Annie partners with schools, districts, and organizations to design and deliver meaningful professional learning, coaching, resource development, curriculum review, and general literacy consultation. Her resources and publications are used by educators and families alike.

Literacy is not a subject. It is the foundation of everything we ask children to do.

Annie believes that literacy instruction is most powerful when it is responsive, joyful, and grounded in deep knowledge of both the reader and the text. She brings that belief to every coaching conversation, every workshop, and every word she writes.
